Rob and Shelley Goudy opened the Cake Lady Bakery on August 2, 2004.  Shelley, a long-time resident of Memphis and Desoto County, has decorated cakes for over 10 years.  Her vast experience and knowledge have set the precedence for success at the bakery.

The bakery, a long-time dream of Shelley’s, was realized when Rob was working on his MBA at the University of Mississippi.  Rob’s final project produced the business plan that facilitated the creation of the bakery.

Shelley began an interest in cake decorating when she received a gift certificate to take a cake decorating class from her aunt.  The class inspired a career in decorating cakes from her home for many years. 

The bakery now bakes and decorates up to 75 homemade cakes per week, including as many as 6 wedding cakes per weekend.  The bakery employs 4 full-time employees and 2 part-time employees to assist with Customer Service.

Rob and Shelley have been married for over 13 years and have 3 children.  They are members at Getwell Road United Methodist Church in Southaven.
